Cross Lanes Bible Church Team Holds Special
Services at Windward Bible Church

In addition to the VBS, the team also conducted special meetings at Windward Bible Church.
They gave stirring testimonies, rousing singing, and challenging preaching.

Preparation Time
Before each service the team would go to our
meeting place in the village of Windward
about one hour before service time. Many would spend some personal time in
the Word of God, reflecting on the Lord, and praying. Many chose to sit on
the jetty (or dock) located directly behind our rented facilities.

Special Singing
Along with officially recognized excelling academics,
Cross Lanes Christian School has an
award winning
Fine Arts program. That was evident in the special
singing the team presented during its ministry at Windward Bible Church.
Each service began with prayer and a congregational song.
The team then went to the front where one or two teens would share a
touching testimony concerning what the Lord has recently taught them, how He
helped them through some trial, or how He encouraged them in some way. That
would be followed up with the entire group singing a special selection or
two with inspiring messages. During each of the services a quartet, duet, or
other group would present another moving selection. The entire group would
then sing one more song that immediately proceed each message.
Below are photos of some of the special singing.

Marty Nelson worked hard to lead the group in singing. |

Each member on the team strove to sing with excellence to
glorify the Lord and encourage our folks. |

Haley Curry played the piano for the congregational
singing. |

Marty and Haley's sweet voices sang of God's blessings
and moved our congregation. |

On occasion, some our folks joined in. Here, Jeshua and
Wesley Alexander sing with Ben Edwards, Matt Templeton, and Nick
Kirkland. |

The team's men's quartet sang of the Lord's love and grace
with beautiful harmony and vibrant strong voices. |
There were many more specials by others, but unfortunately
none of us got more usable pictures. Sorry.

Challenging
Preaching
The folks of Windward Bible Church were especially blessed,
challenged, and taught with Spirit filled preaching from several different
men and young men.

The Folks of Windward
Bible Church Enjoyed Every Moment!

Our folks were very encouraged by the team and the special
services they held. We had faithful attendance by most of our regular people
on each night, and had a number of first time visitors each night! We had
over sixty in our best attended service. That means that nearly fifty of our
own people and visitors attended!
Many of our folks got to know team members by name,
and even exchange addresses. Many have since been in contact via snail
mail and e·mail. As you may imagine, our folks are eagerly awaiting the
arrival of the next team.
As the pastor, I see many benefits of the team's short ministry
here on Carriacou. Among many others, it helped the community see that we
are not some small isolated group that came to Carriacou to form a cult to lead people
astray. When we first arrived nearly eleven years ago, we often heard "Jim
Jones" and poison "cool-aid" mentioned in reference to us. By God's marvelous
grace, that has change with the vast majority of the people here on
Carriacou, and even in the village of Windward.
We have much for which to be thankful, and the team from Cross
Lanes added to the list of blessings.
