Great site...! Very impressed...! I found the site map to be the most helpful
for navigation throughout.
I feel as if I have just been on vacation and seen paradise, been to church
services, and met the wonderful people there.
I have been to Canouan for 2 missions trips. My friend there is a dear
brother named Harold Skovmand from Canada. He pastors a church known as Wells of
Living Water.
I will now keep you both on my prayer list.
Did I say I was impressed with your site...! Great job brother...
Thanks for visiting LCM and taking the time to offer

The list of churches is very helpful, but it would have been more useful if
when you went from thumbnail to larger picture the address was also included.
Each church is easily found once you enter the town
of Hillsborough or any the smaller villages. I am not aware of any street
numbers, and the names of the roads in the villages remain a mystery to me. The

Is LCM a culture?
No, LCM is not a culture or cult (if that is
what you were thinking of). It is a personal web-based outreach ministry that
simply seeks to promote the word of God. We also aim to present information on
current topics and trends from a biblical perspective. The Webmaster.

Why is there so many small churches in Grenada? When I was growing up in
Grenada I only knew the Anglican church, where I grew up, an the other three
churches like the CATHOLIC METHODIST AN SCOTTISH CHURCH. Any ways it nice
visiting.
Obviously, I cannot answer for everyone or for other
churches. Yet, I would venture to speculate that there are more churches now
because many of the people of Grenada have spent many years working abroad and
have been exposed to new spiritual perspectives. It is likely that they have
broadened their horizons spiritually speaking.
Lastly, more and more missionaries have learned of
Grenada and Carriacou and they believe they have either been led here by God, or
they simply came to believe that this would be a good place to establish one of
their churches. The Webmaster.

SHAME ON YOU!!! I'm sorry, I had to come back one last time with a message to
all those who criticized me on these boards. Here in my country, we have been
hearing about a little girl who was tortured to death by her guardians. The
abuse happened over a number of months and it was allowed to go on so long
because of a number of serious blunders by police and social workers. When the
little girl was found dead, her body was covered by a variety of injuries from
cigarette burns to bruises and investigators even suggested that she had been
hit repeatedly with a bicycle chain. Now that is just ONE case out of many that
happen here in my country and every other country in the world and presumably
you Christians would say that god sees all this inhumanity. Well it is my
assertion that anybody who stands by and does nothing to help such victims,
especially little children, is to say the least a callous, uncaring wretch. And
to make matters worse, your god gives us a lot of trivial and sickening excuses
for his inactivity. And YOU, YOU CHRISTIANS, you worship this wretched god
purely for your own self interest, to get yourselves into heaven. It never
occurs to you to plead with your god to use his powers to help the innocent,
does it? Because you don't want to upset him, thereby putting at risk your
chances of heavenly bliss, ALL YOU JUDGEMENTAL BIGOTS MAKE ME SICK.
You obviously have formed your own subjective and
prejudicial view of God and Christians—and
have somehow attributed all evil and misdeeds to them. You fail to realize that
are also evil spiritual forces at work in the world that will use people open to
their influence to commit hideous deeds such as the one you described above.
Lastly, the only baseless judgmental and bigoted notions posted on this website
are such as contained in the comments you made above. The Webmaster.

To: A humble man of peace
Dear A humble man of peace,
Why not make an argument about the Holocaust of WWII. This was a much worst
situation. You have to understand that we have all fallen short of God's grace.
We see a gruesome murder and can not understand why God lets these things
happen. If God does not exist, then all of existence, including ours suffering,
has no enduring value, purpose, or goal. If you believe in another deity then
you are in the same boat. Right! We all here with free will....GOD did not make
puppets. You will have to keep in mind that suffering does not originate with
God and will be eliminated at some point. God works good in the midst of
suffering; not all pain is suffering in the moral sense; and physical, transient
suffering and death are relatively inconsequential compared to spiritual,
eternal suffering and death.
Our assurance that God will eliminate suffering is not the only comfort God
gives us. While God did not cause suffering, he has given it purpose. It became
the vehicle for our salvation when “Jesus, the author and perfecter of our
faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame”
(Hebrews 12:2). Complete avoidance of suffering is not an option for any of us.
Suffering and death in this sinful world are not without remedy. The only
reasonable response to the existence of suffering is confidence in God’s
promises for eternity:
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. . . . Blessed are
the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. . . . Blessed are those who are
persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. [Matt.
5:3-10]
If there is not a God and you believe in the Evolution, then all the
intelligence and purposeful design around us was created from
unintelligence.....
Thanks for visiting LCM. The Webmaster.

This has been wonderful. I never heard of Carriacou until reading Paul

spiritual rebirth on the island. I'm so happy that I did some further research

Greetings in the name of the most high, Jah Rastfari! I & I found your
article of research to be very controversial. We Rasta are not the ones who have
misinterpreted the concepts of the Bible. Our truths are facts. We have the
oldest Bible in the world (Ethiopian Zion Coptic Church written in the original
language which is ahmaric) including the true interpretation of the Lost sea
scrolls, the Lost books of the garden of eden, and concrete evidence regarding
His MAjesty Haille Sellassie I as the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, conquoring
Lion of the Tribe of Judah true to the uniterrupted lineage of King Solomon and
King David. This is fact. Jesus Christ must have resembled His MAjesty (dark
pigmentation)because he was a cousin in this line of royal imperial lineage.
This is fact. THe United States history books and paintings tricked the African
slaves into believing that God was white. This is not fact. In fact, the
painting of Christ that circulates in the U.S is actually a painting by Leonardo
Di Vinci and the model was Ceasar Lombroso. Rasta has reached back in time and
found it's roots to be black, strong & proud and most of all non-white. We are
the original Kings and Queens of the earth who were tricked by modern day
Babylon into beleiving that white was better. In the Bible it says that the day
shall come when the first shall be last and the last shall be first. God has
written that Modern day oppressors and downpressors who have kept us in chains
and bondage for over 400 years through crimes against humanity (20 times worst
than a 10 year holocaust) shall become the burden bearers of the world. What
about the African Holocaust? Why hasn't this become a major source for
repatriation? These are things that Rasta beleives and we shall forward and trod
through Babylon with our interpretations that are the oldest documented
interpretations in his-story or should I say our-story. Give Thanks and praises
to the Most high, JAh Rastafari, Ever living, Ever Faithful Ever Sure, Jah lives
Children!!!
One's beliefs do not become truth merely because one
states or believes that their "truths are facts." The Ethiopian Zion Coptic
Church's Bible does not mention Haile Selassi I, nor do the Dead Sea Scrolls Nor
does either teach that Selassi is the Messiah. Any inference to such requires
one to force an interpretation that ignores what the rest of what the Scripture
teaches concerning the Messiah.
Your repeated assertion "this is fact" does not make
Selassi the Messiah or Jesus having dark skin—except
in you own mind. Granted, it most likely that Jesus was not blue blue-eyed and
blonde headed as many paintings today represent Him to be, and it likely that
His skin tone was swarthy or olive in hue as is typical for those of Hebrew
ancestry.
Biblical Christians do not believe God is white or
black. The Father is a spirit who has no pigmentation of any color. His son,
Jesus of Nazareth, who is God that clothed Himself in human flesh, chose to
enter the world through the lineage of Abraham, and by such his physical
characteristics would be more like those of Jewish/Hebrew ancestry.
Those who study and the Bible in earnest and
interpret it literally with open hearts and minds know that it does not teach
that black or white is good or bad. Instead it teaches that spiritual light is
good and spiritual darkness (the absence of light) is bad. In reality, the word
black is not use even once in reference spiritual wickedness in the Bible—it
is darkness that is deemed such instead. The Bible (regardless of versions)
teaches that spiritual light in found in the word of God. Spiritual darkness is
religious belief that is not based upon God's Word or is based upon a perverted
interpretation of God's word.
Lastly, in my opinion your comments help to
reinforce the validity of some of the things I stated in my article
"What is Rastafarianism?"
Thanks.

I was hoping to find some information about the religion Rastafarianism. I
found what I was looking for but I was extremely disappointed in the way that
the information was presented. Christianity involves accepting others as who
they are and this article was very offensive to people of that religion. I just
hope that the Christians that read that know better than to believe that
prejudice.
Thanks for visiting LCM.
"What
is Rastafarianism?," the article I have posted
on LCM simply presented the historical and factual origin and characteristics of
the movement, and my personal observations concerning Rastafarians that I have
personally encountered. The article is free of emotion, and is a straightforward
presentation of the facts. I even stated in the article that many Rastafarians
that I have met "are honest, hardworking, family oriented, and charitable."
Thus, I must conclude that your "disappointment" with my article does not lie in
the way I presented the information, but in the information itself. If that is
the case, Rastafarianism is what it is, even if its factual characteristics are
disappointing to those who hold favorable views toward it.
Your assertion that "Christianity involves
accepting others as who they are" is erroneous and in itself "prejudicial"
toward Christianity. I say that because a simple definition of prejudice is:
a. An adverse judgment or
opinion formed beforehand or without knowledge or examination of the facts. See
synonyms at predilection. b. A preconceived preference or idea.
[1]
Your notion of Christianity involving
accepting others as they are is indeed a preconceived preference this is not
based upon the facts, and by thus prejudicial.
In fact, the Christian Bible clearly spells
out what Christianity is, and defines it in terms of faith and practice. The
Bible itself states the following, which clearly contradicts your assertion
about its supposedly universal acceptance of others—regardless of their beliefs:
6Jesus saith unto him,
I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh
unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)
9The Lord is not slack concerning
his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not
willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter
3:9)
Christians whose faith is based upon the
Bible know that Christianity is not universal on it teaching concerning God and
salvation. It is my hope that non-Christians will be able to examine the facts
concerning Christianity, Rastafarianism—and other religions as well—and then
make up their minds according to the dictates of their own hearts.

Webmaster

Hi...I randomly encountered your article about Rastafarianism while surfing
the WWW. I am white and from America. My two roommates are Rastafarian, black,
and from the Caribbean. I can clearly see that your defining of the concepts
associated with Rastas is somewhat vague and uneducated. I do not partake of
marijuana and my roommate, a dedicated Rasta for 20+ years, has never taken part
in smoking marijuana. This is not true of all Rastas...for marijuana was not
even introduced into Rastafarian mind until many, many years after the
beginnings of Rasta foundation. Your information regarding Rastafarian culture
is in my knowledge mostly correct. If your mission is to "convert" Rastas and
preach the Gospel to them, you will fail if you are speaking with a true Rasta.
The true and faithful Rastafarian will forever hold strong in any and all
circumstances. No one shall budge a true Rasta.
Thanks for visiting LCM and taking the time to offer
your comments. As stated in my article, my observations concerning Rastas and
marijuana are just that—my observations
based upon those I have encountered personally. This not only includes those
that obviously make a loose claim to the sect to justify their use of ganja, but
also those that are truly devoted to Rastafarianism as a faith and way of
living. From my experience your two roommates are the exception—not
the rule. If I at some time in the future I discover that I have erred in this
assertion I will change my article accordingly.
I agree that is very difficult to see people turn
from Rastafarianism to Biblical faith in the Biblical Jesus Christ—but
it does happen by God's power and grace to those that remain open to truth. I
personally know of two former true Rastas that have done so.
The Webmaster.

Interesting site. I think it would be better if you had mentioned Gods name
Jehovah, but other than that it was interesting. I like to see what others
believe in :)
Thanks for your comments and for visiting LCM. God's
name is commonly be pronounced Jehovah (Jeh hoe vah) today, but it is more
likely and accurately pronounced Yahweh (Yah way) or Yehovah. The ancient
Hebrews did not have a hard breathing "J" but an aspirated "Y" consonant sound
instead.
In addition, ancient Hebrew did not have vowels as
we do in English, but vowel points instead. In reverence and fear, the Hebrew
scribes would never pronounce God's name, and they did not want others to
pronounce it because they deemed it too Holy for sinful man to utter. Thus, the
scribes did not include the vowel points when they wrote God's name that is
transliterated from Hebrew to English as YHWY from the Hebrew
hwIhyÒ.
The now common practice of adding vowel sounds to
the this tetra gammon is mostly guess work at best. Some have applied the vowel
points for Adonay and then substituted the hard "J" for the smoother breathing
"Y" for the Hebrew Yod character. This has led to the wide spread practice of
pronouncing God's name as Jehovah today, though it is at the least questionable.
Referring to God's name as simply God or Jesus is more accurate and more than
adequate in most cases.
