A Word From the Webmaster About The Nature and Thrust of the Audio Messages

The sermons posted here are of the expository type. That means that the speaker usually goes through a particular passage or group of passages and explains them verse by verse.

Most of the messages here are by me, Walter Robinson II, the pastor of Windward Bible Church (www.WindwardBibleChurch.org) and the webmaster of LCM. I suffered a serious stroke back in 1999 that left me paralyzed on my right side and unable to speak for several days. As you will able to tell from listening to the messages, the Lord has been more than gracious to me and healed me from most of the effects of that illness.

Yet, there are times that I have trouble recalling and pronouncing various words. There are other times that I have spoken one word while thinking of another. Thus, I have edited most messages to correct these mistakes. I have also edited out the periodic, but brief disruptions of our services by the occasional drunk, Rastafarian, drug addict, and emotionally troubled that wonder into our services from off the street. (Yes, it is exciting and never boring to minister here!)

In the days ahead I hope to make more messages available as well as testimonies by others. It is my hope that each would be instrumental in reaching some that  have not yet been born again by faith in Christ. Other messages will hopefully benefit the body of Christ by way of instruction, exhortation, comfort, and challenge to live for the Lord Jesus.
 

Background Sounds
of the Caribbean
Living Spice to Each Message

In the background of the messages that have been recorded live in our services on Carriacou, Grenada, you may at times hear a baby crying, a barking dog, or a vehicle passing down the street right in front of our building's main entrance. In most messages you will notice the lapping of the surf about eight feet behind our pulpit. (Click here to see our rear wall and shoreline.) You may also hear a brief rumble caused by a stiff breeze due to the trade winds coming from behind our pulpit and across our microphone. If you listen closely, you may even hear the chirping of crickets in our evening services.

It is my hope and prayer that these sounds will not distract anyone, but supply living and tasteful spice to each message.

You have two options with each audio file.

2. Right Click this image or the designated 'Right click here to download' links and choose 'save as' to download.

NOTE: All files are copyrighted with all rights reserved by their authors. This is done to protect the integrity of the files and insure that no one else claims them and then forbids the authors from using them.

Technical Info for the Geeks

(Files sizes, streaming speed, download time, etc.)

Most messages are approximately 50 minutes in length with an average files size of 6 megs. Shorter message will be a little smaller, while longer ones are a little larger.

The audio files are presented in the MP3 format and sampled at a 16kbps bit rate. Therefore, you should be able to listen to them with few if any breaks even if you have an iffy 56kbps or good 28kbps dialup connection.

Alternately, you may download the files. Once downloaded you can play them in the MP3 player of your choice. You may also replay them whenever you desire. You have my permission to share them with others as well. However, if someone wishes to post any portion of any files on another website they must get my permission first. (I will likely give it.)

I personally recommend that the files be downloaded -- especially if a visitor has a slow or iffy connection. Estimated download times are dependant upon your internet connection speed and data transfer consistency:

• 28 - 56 kbps: 25 to 30 minutes

• 128 kbps: 6 to 8 minutes

• 500 kbps +: 1 minute or less

In January of 2004, I installed counters on the links to each file -- whether streamed or downloaded. This enables me to see the number of times a file has been 'accessed'. By accessed, I mean a visitor has either began a download or began to listen to the message stream from my server. The count, however, does not show whether the files were downloaded or listened to in its entirety. It is my hope that each count reflects a complete download or a message that was listened to through to the end.

I hope that installing these counters will help me to manage the space on the server more wisely by keeping the most accessed messages available for longer periods of time.

For the time being, the page that displays the counts are not readily accessible to the public. However, I may make it accessible in the future.
