Thanks to those of you who have recently prayed for us.
I share the following two items of praise for your encouragement and guidance as
you continue to pray for us.
First, the young man I mention in my previous notes has finally responded
favorably to biblical confrontation! Wednesday night two weeks ago the young man and
another older man in our congregation we in the service at the same time. I believe the
spirit of God led me to seize the opportunity, and I pressed for a meeting with the three
of us to take place right after I concluded our service. Thankfully, both agreed and we
went to our home and met in my office immediately afterwards.
To make a long story short, the young man finally confessed his failure and sins.
He did commit to having had immoral physical relations on one occasion with the woman. He
also confessed that he had lied to many people in attempts to cover his behavior. In my
opinion, and once he began confessing, he demonstrated sincere brokenness and remorse for
all his actions. After his confession and demonstration of remorse I informed him that he
was not to have any part in leadership of song service, or church office, or in any other
leadership position for a period at least one year. He responded well with full
understanding and acceptance.
That following Sunday he went before the church and confessed all, including his
lying to me and others about the things I mentioned in my previous notes. He also stated
how sorry he was, and he knew that he had really hurt the church and the Lords work
by his behavior. I believe he more than adequately expressed his remorse. Lastly, he
sought the forgiveness of the church, and it was graciously given! I believe the healing
process has begun.
He also admitted to me that he is no longer sure the Lord has called his to serve
as an evangelist. That is something he and I will continue to pray about. But nothing one
way or another will happen in this regard until he has faithfully demonstrated consistent
spiritual growth and stability over the next year. Please remember to pray for this young
man.
Second, thanks for praying about the new location and building in Windward. I am
thrilled to report that we closed the rental/lease agreement this past Wednesday night!
PTL! J We are now making changes in the wiring and lights in preparation for moving in. We
are also anticipating doing some painting and making two rooms. One room will serve as a
small office, which will also double as a room for teen Sunday school when needed. The
other will serve as a room for childrens Sunday school which is greatly needed right
now.
I believe the provision of this new site is truly a great spiritual victory for
the Kingdom of God. Since the village of Windward was founded some 400 years ago, it has
been firmly under the control of the Church of Rome! As far as I am aware, there has never
been another church thereuntil now! J This provision of a building for us is a
victory that I am sure is very displeasing to Satan. But, as is evident, our God is
Greater! Please remember to pray for us.
Still looking up,
Walter
